In the spirit of seeking insights across the country for my documentary, I’m driving to a city known for its success addressing homelessness. The Houston metro area is almost double the size of the Twin Cities, yet official numbers state their homeless population is lower. How’s that possible? That’s what I’m going to find out.
I’ll be speaking with those on the streets as well as visiting some of the people and places credited for reducing the homeless numbers. Most notably, next Tuesday, December 4, I will interview Marilyn Brown, President and CEO of the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston (picture #3, left).
I’m excited to hit the road. By driving, I can stop in other cities to see what homelessness looks like across the U.S.
Such a trip is going to add a lot to this project–including expense. If willing, contribute here. Your donations will go directly into fueling (literally) this documentary series on homelessness in America.
