ABOUT THE WALL

Saga of the camp: its growth, the community response, the internal conflicts within, and the eventual transfer of residents to shelter

Our hope is right beyond this wall. Our help is right out there. But, a lot of us would rather not leave, because we don’t have that responsibility and everyday life, and work and so forth. We just like it here, you know?
- Earl
This is what she says: Basically, I think the majority of the reason why we’re out here, is because we chose a different path than the path that God’s given us.
- Kat
Home was never really a statement to me. There was nothing that I could call home.
- Gage
"I just want to try to get into housing, so I can enjoy my grandbabies and get to know them."
- Angela
"The progress is slow, but what happens fast in Minnesota, right?"
- James, community advocate
"There's a place in the community for us. It's a different spot for everybody in the community, as far as giving back and helping our people."
